A PRETTY Evesham teenager has been asked to compete in the country’s first ever teenage beauty pageant, Teen Queen UK.
Rachel Benwell, aged 16, from Charity Crescent, was spotted while attending the Clothes Show in Birmingham with her mum and older sister, Natalie.
After posing for a few shots, it wasn’t until a few weeks later that Rachel realised she had been headhunted.
Mum Helen said: “She had her photo taken by the Teen Queen stall while at the show in November.
“We didn’t think any more about it until we got a phone call a few weeks later asking us if she could attend a photo shoot.
“I’m really excited for her. She loved it at the photo shoot and it gave her a lot of confidence. It’s just something totally different.”
Rachel will appear on the Teen Queen website for the next two weeks in which time the public can vote for her. The winner of Teen Queen UK will then go on to represent Britain in Miss Teen World 2010, in the USA.
