‘Treat one’s goal as passion and not obsession’

Beauty Pageant is the taste of liberalization attitude towards women,’ said Y. Alongla Assistant Commandant 15 NAP (IR) at the Miss ENSF beauty pageant held at Kiphire. She was speaking at the occasion as the guest of honor.

Defining culture, she said: “Younger generation today is confused with modernization to westernization” and asked the gathering present to be wise enough to take the right path not simple aping alien culture blindly.

While stating, ‘I am proud to be one from Eastern Naga areas’. she also encouraged the younger generation to imbibe the good qualities our forefathers passed on to us. Challenging the student community she said: “Mediocre in any field today is considered a failure due to cut throat competition, therefore be excellent, however, one should treat ones goal as passion and not be an obsession.”

Touching on the fast vanishing moral values of the present generation the Police officer regretted saying: “Today the moral values amongst the younger generation are vanishing and is becoming at stake.”

Encouraging the ENSF officials, she said that ENSF Platform should not be a stumbling block rather it should be the stepping stone for advancement and expressed hope in the functioning of the ENSF.

Earlier T. Vyilila Chang winner of Star Kid 2009 enthralled the crowd with her melodious voice. The show also witness special appearance by Liln’s free stylers from Tuensang and Masala Brothers.
