Harshita to represent Goa at Pantaloons Femina Miss India contest

Panaji, Dec 6 Harshita Saxena has been selected as the Goa’s official participant at the Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2008 contest, to be held in Mumbai in February 2008.
The Pantaloons Femina Miss India Earth - Air 2006, Amruta Patki, presenting the beauty pageant contestant from Goa, at a press conference this evening at the Radio Mirchi FM Channel office, said that over the years Femina Miss India has evolved considerably with the changing face of global beauty and fashion trends.
“We are looking for girls who symbolise the independent Indian woman of today who can represent the country, internationally,” she said, adding that Harshita was selected on the basis of her height, oratory skill, very comfortable body language and self confidence.
The organisers of the Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2008 contest, for the first time, are visiting cities across India to scout for the most potent combination of beauty and intellect, the cities being Goa, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Guwahati, Indore, Jaipur, Agra, Nasik and Pune.
The beauty pageant also makes its foray into the Southern part of the country with the launch of its exclusive South India based pageant for the first time - Pantaloons Femina Miss India South 2008.
While the second and the first runner up of the Pantaloons Femina Miss India South 2008 will become part of the national event finale to be held in Mumbai, the winner of the South pageant stands to get a direct entry into the top ten finalist of the Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2008.
The 20-year old Harshita, who is doing a correspondence degree course in Bachelor of Arts, is the sister of Darshika, Goa’s representative at the beauty pageant, in 2006.
