The Florida Ethnic World Pageant begins its statewide search for “Women of Courage, Women of Change”
Miami Gardens, Florida. The Florida Ethnic World Pageant was designed to celebrate women from diverse walks of life, and is Florida’s only competition open to young women ages 13 and over, single, married, and/or plus size. The competition is seeking contestants for its 2011 competition. Eligible contestants will be a natural born female, have a displayable talent, be of good moral character, have a desire to serve the community, and have a positive attitude. Contestants compete in community service, interview, talent, cultural expression, fitness (non-swimsuit), evening gown, and on stage questions and answer.
The theme “Women of Courage, Women of Change” is the Florida Ethnic World Organization’s challenge to its contestants and titleholders to be courageous enough to be them selves, celebrating their heritage, changing the image of pageantry and making an impact on the world. This year, Florida Ethnic World contestants and titleholders will secure aid and supplies for Haitian Earthquake survivors, as well as, provide tutoring and mentoring to Florida students.
The Florida Ethnic World Pageant is currently scheduled for Sunday, January16th, 2011 in Miami Gardens, Florida at the Lou Rawls Center for the Performing Arts. The pageant awards five (5) titles: Florida Ethnic World Essence, Mrs. Florida Ethnic World, Ms. Florida Ethnic World, Miss Florida Ethnic World, and Teen Florida Ethnic World. Florida Ethnic World Essence contestants will be at least 18 years of age, must be at least a size 14, may be married or single, and may or may not have children. Mrs. Florida Ethnic World contestants must be at least 18 years of age, must be married, and may or may not have children. Ms. Florida Ethnic World contestants must be at least 18 years of age, single (may be widowed or divorced), and may or may not have children. Miss Florida Ethnic World contestants must be between the ages of 18 – 29, single (never married), and without children (never given birth or adopted). Teen Florida Ethnic World contestants must be between the ages of 13 – 17, must be single (never married), and without children (never given birth or adopted). All contestants will receive pageant training and coaching in preparation for the 2011 competition, as well as assistance receiving exposure for their mission/platform, modeling, talent and public speaking careers.
All Florida Ethnic World Queens will be given the opportunity to compete for the title of Ethnic World International in beautiful Los Angeles, California. Queens will also be awarded an all expense paid trip to crown their successor at the 2012 Florida Ethnic World competition, a deluxe crown, custom printed sash, trophy, appearance package and much more.

The Florida Ethnic World Pageant, formerly the Miss Black South Florida Pageant, began in 2007 and expanded into a statewide competition, open to women of all ethnicities, ages and sizes in late 2009.
