WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN MISS CHINESE AMERICAN BEAUTY PAGEANT INCREASES CONTEST PRIZE TO $50,000
WASHINGTON, DC (May 11, 2010) - Pacific Culture International is pleased to announce the Second Washington Metropolitan Miss Chinese American Beauty Pageant has increased its pageant scholarship prize from $30,000 to $50,000. The pageant, which will be held on September 17, 2010 at Strathmore Music Center in Bethesda, MD, is open to all Chinese American women, ages 17 through 25, who live in the United States. Contestants will compete in the areas of personality, talent, modeling, and popularity. Pageant winners will receive a combination of scholarships, cash, and prizes. The top three pageant winners will travel to China for two weeks as friendship ambassadors, promoting tourism and cultural exchange between the United States and China. Application deadline for those wishing to compete is June 30, 2010.
The Washington Metropolitan Miss Chinese American Beauty Pageant gives gifted young Chinese American women an opportunity to demonstrate cultural pride, leadership, and family value. The pageant also helps these wonderful young ladies develop the confidence and skills they need to successfully compete in all areas of business, education, art, and commerce in our culture-blended society.
Chris Jan, Executive Director of Pacific Cultural International and event organizer said, “I am very excited about the opportunity to offer our contestants scholarships and prizes worth $50,000. This increase was made possible by the generous support of our sponsors, local businesses owners, and supporters. Our $50,000 scholarship package will also inspire Chinese women throughout the country to sign up for our exciting event.”
Pageant organizers are also pleased to announce that Dr. Joyce Knudsen, Founder and President of The ImageMaker, Inc.®, will be participating in the Washington Metropolitan Miss Chinese American Beauty Pageant as a pageant sponsor and VIP guest. Dr. Knudsen started The ImageMaker, Inc.® in l985. She has AICI CIM qualifications as well as a Ph.D. Dr. Knudsen has authored five books, produced her own television show, and is currently “on air” with her radio show, “The ImageMaker Presents”.
