Yen Le won the Miss Vietnam USA title in November 2007 but she is still to receive her big prize, the beauty queen claims in court papers just filed against the pageant. According to Le, she is still $10,000 and a Mercedes short for winning – and she’s taking the matter to court, celebrity gossip site / paparazzi agency TMZ informs.

I don't watch beauty pageants. My lack of interest does not stem from some misguided belief that pageants somehow degrade women (we're putting them on a pedestal, for heaven's sake!). Its just that they bore me.

The gay marriage front in the culture war has spilled over into another bona fide American institution -- the beauty pageant. Miss California, Carrie Prejean, told the Today show that she didn't win Sunday's Miss USA pageant because of her response to a question about same-sex unions.
